Iranian Minister/Soldier Facing Charges

According to an AsiaNews.it article, Hamid Pourmand was facing espionage charges in order to give a reason to execute him for his Christian faith. The bad news is that he will still face charges for proselytising and apostacy.

Hamid Pourmand is a Colonel in the Iranian army where it is not a welcomed thing to be a Christian. Another piece to the puzzle is that Colonel Pourmand is an officer in an army that is forbidden by law to have officers who are non-muslims.

The Muslims are jealous. The story states:

During the hearing, court officials declared that for many years Pourmand had belonged to an ‘underground’ church through which “many Muslims” had deserted Islam and become Christians.
