A plain clothes policeman virtually attacked a juvenile without identifying himself according to a FOX Carolina News report. The officer had the boy's mother arrested for defending her son when she did not know he was a police officer.
The Police Chief said that "officers do not have to identify themselves immediately." How the parent is supposed to know that an out-of-control man is an officer of the law, I am not sure. However, the mother of the boy was arrested and charged with assault on an officer.
He's lucky there was not a parent with a gun around. He might be dead. Some wacko comes running out and threatening a child is asking for trouble- even if he's a police officer.
